Louis Holder leads the company’s post department as Post Producer, across the company’s entire slate of productions which ranges from short films to features & HETV/Episodic Content, covering the breadth of genres all the way from drama and documentary to artists’ moving image and advertising.
He is also responsible for the company’s output through QC (quality control), workflow management, departmental R&D and of course managing the team – which includes Senior Colourist Zain Haris and Creative VFX Lead Raiyan Chinoy – in addition to working alongside external stakeholders, freelancers and links in other post facilities.
Louis graduated in 2019 from world-renowned Westminster Film School (BA Film) and went on to pursue a Masters in Editing & Post-Production at London South Bank University, graduating in 2021. This followed shortly-after with an appointment as Edit Assistant, then rising to the position of Senior Edit Assistant, at BAFTA, Emmy & ProMax-awarded broadcast post-production facility – Platform Post – remaining there for almost three years.
BAFTA award-winning assistant editor and Royal Television Society award-winning filmmaker, whose work has featured across national and international film festivals including: Sheffield DocFest, BFI Future Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, Raindance, Manchester IFF, Scout Film Festival and UCL Festival of the Moving Image.
Work has screened at all major cinemas in London, and across sites in the regions. Also credited/featured work on broadcast channels – Channel 4, Channel 5, London Live, and ArtStreaming TV, and credited on productions acquired by Netflix and Amazon Prime. Previous Work also shown on BFI Player, NOWNESS and featured work includes Vimeo Staff Pick of the Week.
His MA graduation film, the documentary – Cinema Now – explored the impact of the COVID lockdowns on London’s repertory cinema scene – and screened at over 200+ festivals worldwide, including a roadshow release on 35mm at select venues.
Complementing his position at Disauthority, Louis continues to work as an artist-filmmaker and educator: working predominantly as an offline editor (AVID), mastering & deliverables producer and self-shooting director at Hertfordshire-based studio – Studio Holder. He is also a consulting editor/post producer, regularly advising on workflow & archival best practices and post management across both celluloid & digital mediums, for education and industry. Louis was also a leading Film Programmer and Workshops Facilitator at volunteer-run Deptford Cinema (2018-2021).
Louis is an advocate for increasing equality and accessibility for disabled workers in the creative industries, and was formally diagnosed with ADHD & ASD, from an early age.
Louis is a member of BECTU (the broadcasting union) and BFE (British Film Editors – the UK editor’s guild).
